The EU adopted a new round of targeted sanctions against Russia, adding 34 individuals and 47 entities to its sanctions lists. The measures target Russia’s military-industrial complex, the shadow fleet supporting Russian energy exports, entities facilitating sanctions circumvention in third countries, state propaganda networks, and individuals responsible for serious human rights violations. The package also strengthens sanctions addressing Russia’s hybrid activities against the EU. The EU noted that work on the broader 21st sanctions package was continuing and would be adopted separately.
